For 40 years my art career includes painting and exhibiting in galleries across the country from Chicago to Houston to Detroit to Reno. I have traveled the World observing cultures and vistas which has resulted in painting my personal visions of such mysteries as Egypt, Peru, China, Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Turkey, England, Greece and more in my Texas Hill Country studio outside of San Antonio.
My international experiences include an exhibition in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia. I was fortunate to spend extended time with the cultures of South America. A Senator from Brazil saw my work in a Chicago gallery and invited me to come to Brazil to paint an exhibition for his galleries. He built me a studio in Brasilia where I painted for several months and produced a body of work for his galleries with much success and fond memories.
I have over 600 private and corporate collectors throughout the U.S. and the world. Ford Motor Company, Alcoa, and Dupont are among my corporate clients.
For the past several years, I have been painting large, ethereal canvas pieces for individual clients. I paint commissions upon request.
Biography
A native of Texas, artist Stevie Kesner Ricks is known throughout the United States for her large, ethereal abstractions. The paintings are a mystical expression of her experiences and travels around the World. Painted on both paper and raw duct canvas, the over sized pieces reflect a sophisticated abandon by throwing white paint across the space in calligraphic rhythm, resulting in powerful movement. To collectors, the work evokes a feeling of spiritual landscapes painted in mixed media with heavy impasto textures balanced with serene areas of iridescent colors.
Stevie has won many regional and national awards including “Best of Shows” in the Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Exhibition, the Western Federation of Watercolor Exhibition, the Southern Watercolor Exhibition twice; The Southwestern Watercolor Exhibition several times; the Texas Watercolor Society Exhibition; and the San Antonio Art League Onderdonk award. Her work hangs in galleries in Chicago, Detroit, Reno, Miami, Pittsburgh. Through the Chicago gallery, Stevie was invited to Brazil for several months to paint exhibitions in both Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro and concluded with new acquisitions by the Brazilian branches of Fiat International and TV Redo Global.
Corporate collectors include the CEO of Ford Motor Company, the President of Alcoa Conglomerate, as well as the American Bar Association and DuPont. Stevie’s work hangs in homes in Lake Tahoe, Boca Raton, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Chicago, New York City, Brazil and many Texas cities.
She has a passion for traveling which greatly reflects in her work to such exotic destinations as Turkey, Peru, Ireland, Philippines, Japan, China, England, Greece, New Zealand, France, Italy, the Sinai, Egypt, Brazil, Ireland, Belize; Hong Kong, Quebec, Vancouver and more.
Stevie paints and resides in her studio in the Texas Hill Country surrounded by her horses, dog, cats and a little burro named Burrito.
